Girls. And one of the few perks of Seth’s little disappearing act is that it’s made way for Ky to move in on Seth’s abandoned groupies. They’re desperate for some affection, and he’s all too willing to put himself out on the market for a good time. Might as well. Who know how long the good times will last.
Partying. Whether it’s his own private party or a bash at someone’s house, Ky lives for a high of any kind. He doesn’t care how or where he gets it. He needs to feel the thrill and lose touch with reality. Because, honestly, reality stinks. It just does.
Football. Seth had his girls. Q had his evil plots. Ky has football. It’s his outlet, and the one place Ky can actually use his blessing without being completely conspicuous. Sure, he had to tone his abilities back—act semi-normal and all—but in truth, he’s invincible on the field.
Dislikes:
The hem-netjer. Seth’s father has never been reasonable, but one little mistake and suddenly Ky is pulled off the football team just before the Homecoming Game. That’s just brutal, man. Like Ky or Q even knew Seth was going to take off with the B*tch of Isis, anyway.
School. Ky has never been into the whole high school thing. But now, after being withdrawn from the football team and having to fend for himself since Q is no longer around, it’s completely unbearable. Plus, it’s beyond annoying with all the little theories flying around school about Natti and Seth’s disappeared. Would people just forget them already?
The B*tch of Isis. That Brit-chick—Natti—seriously screwed up everything for Ky. They were going to rule Setemple, together—all of them: Ky, Q, and Seth. But one pathetic look, one flutter of Miss Exotic Beauty’s lashes, and Seth up and abandons his own friends. Seriously, dude? If Ky ever gets his hands on Natti, he’s going to have a hard time not wringing her pretty little neck.
Quote: “Dude, that’s like totally awesome! I can’t believe he finally torched that thing after all these years,” Ky cheered, causing Sean to break his concentration.
“. . . the Sons would never just let him go—alive.”
Seth O’Keefe has broken the laws of his god. He never thought he would sacrifice his own future to protect a Daughter of Isis. But when the Sons of Set discovered Natti is the Secret Keeper, he had no choice. Now, Seth and Natti are on the run from his father, who wants nothing more than to see Seth dead. With no allies, Seth turns to the Daughters of Isis for help, hoping they would protect Natti. But when they meet the Daughters, he discovers a secret that puts both their lives in more danger. Low on options, Seth sees only one possibility for survival. He must help Natti solve an ancient puzzle and find the secret name of Ra.
Natara “Natti” Stone is having a hard time swallowing the truth. She can’t believe what she has learned in the past twenty-four hours: Seth is a Son of Set blessed with charm; she is a Daughter of Isis blessed with a sliver of Ma ‘at; the locket her grandmother gave her holds an ancient Egyptian secret linking to Osiris and Isis. That along with being tortured and brutalized by the Sons of Set, she can hardly hold herself together. Thank God for Seth’s touch! That warm, tingling sensation that drowns it all out. Yet her heart struggles to stay focused. She must quickly embrace her destiny before the secret name of Ra falls into the wrong hands.
