Welcome to YA Scavenger Hunt! This bi-annual event was first organized by author Colleen Houck as a way to give readers a chance to gain access to exclusive bonus material from their favorite authors…and a chance to win some awesome prizes! At this hunt, you not only get access to exclusive content from each author, you also get a clue for the hunt. Add up the clues, and you can enter for our prize–one lucky winner will receive one signed book from each author on the hunt in my team! But play fast: this contest (and all the exclusive bonus material) will only be online for 72 hours!

Go to the YA Scavenger Hunt page to find out all about the hunt. There are SIX contests going on simultaneously, and you can enter one or all! I am a part of the INDIE TEAM–but there is also a red team, a gold team, an orange team, a red team, and a blue team for a chance to win a whole different set of signed books!

LET THE HUNT BEGIN!

***MEET JEN MCCONNEL, AUTHOR OF BEAUTIFUL CURSE***

Today, I am hosting Jen McConnel on my website for the YA Scavenger Hunt! She first began writing poetry as a child. A Michigander by birth, she now lives and writes in the beautiful state of North Carolina. A graduate of Western Michigan University, she also holds a MS in Library Science from Clarion University of Pennsylvania.  When she isn’t crafting worlds of fiction, she teaches college writing composition and yoga. Once upon a time, she was a middle school teacher, a librarian, and a bookseller, but those are stories for another time.

Not to mention, I heard she published nearly 7 books between 2012 and 2014. Impressive!! Wish I had that kind of record. Find out more information by checking out Jen McConnel website or find more about the author’s book here:

***BEAUTIFUL CURSE***

Sixteen-year-old Mya Jones is cursed.

She is, hands down, the most beautiful creature on earth. But beauty can wound, and Mya finds herself reviled and shunned by her peers. If there is even a chance that she could start over, Mya longs to take it, no matter the risks.

So when the strange Mr. Merk offers her a new life away from home, Mya is hesitant but hopeful. Only she didn’t count on the mysterious Ross, or her feelings for him.

BEAUTIFUL CURSE is a contemporary retelling of the myth of Psyche and Cupid.

BREAKING NEWS: UNEARTHLY BEAUTY AT JAMESON HIGH CAUSES A STIR

Although Jameson High School looks unremarkable to the outside observer, there are reports of strange goings on inside its walls. Sixteen-year-old Mya Jones is causing quite a commotion.

“She’s obscenely beautiful,” said a teacher who asked to remain anonymous. “It’s sick, really, to see a girl so young who’s so obsessed with material culture.”

Others at the school have taken note of Mya’s beauty, too.

“It was like magic,” sixteen-year-old Elaina Hartson said. “One day, she was just regular old Mya, and then the next, bam, she’d been airbrushed.” Hartson fiddled with her hair. “I just wish she trusted me enough to tell me her secret. We’re supposed to be best friends, but ever since Mya got pretty, it’s like she’s another person.”

Jones’s art teacher, the formidable Ms. Amboulia, refused to comment, except to say, “Things aren’t always as they seem.”

It would be hard to believe the reports of the teen’s extreme beauty, but the news crew caught a glimpse of her walking home after school last week, and the eye witness accounts haven’t done her justice. Mya Jones is the most beautiful creature on earth, but how she came by her beauty remains a mystery.

Is she merely an expert at applying makeup? Has she had some work done, as some of her peers suggest? Or could it be that her beauty is supernatural? Here in the Mid West, such a thing sounds ridiculous, but one has to wonder what exactly is going on with the most beautiful girl in the world.

As her mother said, when finally reached for comment, “No one looks that good at sixteen.”

Awesome!! I love books based in mythology, and I definitely want to read this novel myself. I’m adding to my TBR, now. How about you? And don’t forget to enter the contest for a chance to win a ton of signed books by me, Jen McConnel, and more!

To enter, you need to know that my favorite number is 7 .

Add up all the favorite numbers of the authors on the indie team and you’ll have the secret code to enter for the grand prize!

Also, along with the Scavenger Hunt, I’m hold a BONUS GIVEAWAY of 5 sets of Daughter of Isis and Son of Set swag (INT). Enter here -> a Rafflecopter giveaway

***CONTINUE THE HUNT***

To keep going on your quest for the hunt, you need to check out the next author, Cidney Swanson!

GOOD LUCK!!

  1. I am interested in reading quite a bit of them… most being added to goodreads along the way. However, I am definitely interested in Legendary with L.H. Nicole, quite a few of Jen McConnell’s works, and Erica O’Rourke’s Dissonance series.
