{Author Interview} Tara Fuller, Author of the Kissed by Death Series

Today, I am honored to feature an interview with author Tara Fuller, author of the Kissed by Death Series!

Tara Fuller writes books for teens. Some about witches. Some about grim reapers. All, of course, are delightfully full of teen angst and kissing. Tara grew up in a one-stop-light town in Oklahoma, where once upon a time she dreamed of becoming a writer. She has a slight obsession with music, and a shameless addiction to zombie fiction, Mystery Science Theater, and black and white mochas. Tara now lives with her family in a slightly larger town in North Carolina, where they have ay least three stoplights.

Tell us something unique about yourself?

I am obsessed with Mystery Science Theater. I love it. I have a huge DVD collection.

What inspired you to become a writer?

Being a reader! Since I was a kid all I’ve ever wanted to do is create the escape that authors gave me when times were tough.

Tell us what inspired the Kissed by Death Series? What makes it special?

An Edgar Allen Poe quote about life and death inspired Inbetween. After that the world and characters just took on a life of their own.

Between Emma and Finn and Anaya and Cash, which was your favorite couple to write?

This is a hard one! I’d have to say Cash and Anaya. Their relationship wasn’t easy but when they get together it’s explosive. It was so much fun writing two strong willed characters like them.

What contributed to building the different settings of the afterlife?

I started with each reaper and built each world for them. Heaven, Hell, and the Inbetween. Also having an editor that really helped me develop the world helped a lot.

If you could date any one of your characters, who would it be and why?

Cash! He has edge, he’s an artist, and has a great sense of humor. And he’s hot. That counts for something. 😉

Do you have any other books in the works? What are your future goals?

I am currently working on the third book in the Kissed by Death series, DESCENT. All about Easton! I am also working on a novella about the reaper Scout for the series as well. I also have two adult contemporary romance books coming out this year under my pen name, Nicolette Day.

What advice would you give an aspiring author?

Read! Read everything you can get your hands on. It helps you find your voice and perfect your craft. Also never give up!

Where do you like to write?

My favorite place to write is the coffee shop in my local book store.

How do you like to write: longhand or via laptop?

Laptop.

What is your favorite genre?

It’s a tie between paranormal romance and adult contemporary romance.

Ice cream or cake?

Cake

What is the best thing that ever happened to you?

My kids. Oh, and the night I got the call that Entangled Teen was buying my series. That was on the top of the list too. 😉
