The Bookapalooza Scavenger Hunt Has Begun!
Making the Grade is Celebrating One Year of Blogging! And to add to that celebration, Bookapalooza has been created in order to share our love of reading with all of you – and win great prizes while you’re at it.
To see all that Bookapalooza has in store for you, visit Making the Grade
Now, ah… I’m going to be honest with you, I had a hard time deciding what YA experience to share. I mean, it’s been such an AMAZING couple of years interacting with bloggers and authors, I just didn’t know where to start. Should I make a Top 10 list? Maybe write a letter? Talk about blogging?
Actually, I decided to share the best YA event that happened in 2012: the day I first met Tara Fuller in person. It was at a book signing for her novel Inbetween up in Charlotte, NC – a four hour drive from my home. Well, actually, it was a five hour drive from Carolina Beach, which was where I was vacationing that week.
But so worth it! Tara is such a wonderful person!
I bought three of her novels: one for me, one for a friend, and one for a giveaway. Tara and I also got the chance to chat about her book, Inbetween, and future novels of her Kissed by Death series. Actually, reflecting back, I think I kind of rambled – alot – which I now feel a little embarrassed about. Lol. But I was just so high on excitement.
I also got some great pictures of Tara and me together, which you can see. *Note: ignore that guy with the 3D glasses in the first pic. He was only a cardboard stand up.*
All in all, Best Night Ever! Not only is Tara a great author, but she’s also become a great friend as well. And it’s people like Tara – and Jenna over at Making the Grade – who make the YA industry so special.
If you ever get the opportunity to catch one of Tara Fuller’s book signings, I totally recommend that you do! And if you haven’t read Inbetween just yet, I would also recommend that as well. It’s truly an awesome novel!
