Goodreads Summary:

Despite starting a relationship with Patch, her guardian angel (whose title is the only angelic thing about him), and surviving an attempt on her life, things are not looking good for Nora Grey. Aside from fearing her boyfriend is interested in her nemesis, Nora is haunted by images of her father and becomes obsessed with understanding his disappearance. As Nora delves into the mystery of her father’s death, she begins to wonder whether her Nephilim blood line has something to do with it. And since Patch isn’t answering her questions, Nora has to start finding the answers on her own. Relying too heavily on the fact that she has a guardian angel puts Nora at risk again and again. But can she really count on Patch—or is he hiding secrets darker than she can even imagine?

My Rating of this Book – 5 out of 5 Stars

My Review:

So much happens in Crescendo that I was really only left with one word at the end: Scandalous! I’m serious! The twists and shocking truths discovered in this book just threw me over. OMG. No wonder the title is Crescendo. It’s like being carried away, gradually reaching the climax of a thrilling musical score of an adventure movie.

Okay, I love scandals – at least in novels, I do. It’s what makes them intriguing. But I still loved everything else about this book away well. The hidden mysteries and truths were still enticing, keeping me reading into the late hours of the night to discover the secrets behind the pages. And Patch and Nora are still two of my most favorite characters ever. I was a little nervous about that at first, considering my luck with characters. Usually by the second novels, at least one of my favorite characters disappoints me in some way or another. But not in this novel! Sure, they had their issues (and really, what character doesn’t?), but they never disappointed me.

Oh, and the ending was such a shocker. A cliffhanger that leaves the reader DYING to know what fate will befall Patch and Nora. *dramatic sigh* Fortunately, the third book is already out. LOL.

  1. I’ve heard so much about this series, but have never quite worked up the nerve (and by nerve, I mean cash!) to buy it. But you’ve inspired me 🙂 Next pay check, I’m grabbing the first book in this series.
