Happy Halloween and welcome to the Ketch Tavern’s Costume Party Blog Hop!
I’m celebrating Halloween (and having an early birthday celebration) by host a weekend long blog hop. I had gotten this wonderful idea from my friend, Magan @ The Punching Bag Fights Back, when she held a similar blog hop for her birthday back in August, but I have added a spooky twist.
So, here’s how it works:
* Be sure to follow the hostess, if you aren’t already. 🙂 You can subscribe to my blog, follow me on twitter (@kelseyketch), friend me on Goodreads, or add me to your circle on Google+.
* Enter a comment below mentioning your name as well as your blog title and address, what your blog is about, what costume you’ll be wearing for Halloween, and any other pertinent info you’d like to share.
Ex: Hey, I’m Kelsey Ketch! I blog over at Ketch Tavern (ketch1714.wordpress.com), where I talk about my novel (Death’s Island), my writing, and historical sites I visit as well as post book reviews. I’ll be wearing a Catwoman costume with a glittering mask and false diamond claws. Meeeeow! Be sure to hop on over and say hi!
* Visit at least 3 new blogs and say hi. Follow, if you like.
*Be sure to invite your friends to the party. Create a post, re-tweet, facebook, etc…
* Finally, here’s the best part! All those who participate in this blog hop will be automatically entered into a drawing for a $15 Barnes and Noble gift card! No need to enter your e-mail into the comment, just what was instructed above. The winner will be selected by Random.org and announced Nov. 2.
The party will be rocking throughout the weekend and will end at midnight on October 31 (EDT). So, good luck and enjoy!
What an awesome idea, Kelsey! Hmm…I better get cracking if I want a shot at that gift card, but more importantly, to meet all-new people with this blog adventure! Thanks for this!

This is a great idea! Happy Birthday to you. My name is Marcie and I blog over at To Read or Not To Read (http://www.2readornot2read.com) where I talk about the books I’m reading as well as host giveaways, guest posts, interviews and more. This year I’m dressing up as a witch while I hand out candy to the kids.

Hi Kelsey, Steph here with two blogs: the main blog is Fangs, Wands and Fairy Dust
and I blog there mainly on the paranormal in books, video, myth and culture.
the second is Winged Effigy where I blog on anything or everything.
I am on twitter at: @fangswandsfairy and can be emailed at

For Halloween, I will be dressed up as someone too old to trick or treat and on a block with 1 kid. I stopped buying candy so if a kid were to stumble up our darkened front walk to our darkened house, I would reward them with a buck. Beats me having to eat leftover candy. It would be hard to dress up as much since I have stitches in my leg.
Great idea, have a great Halloween. Steph

I am going to dress up as mysterious lady in black and orange. I can’t wait to see the neighborhood kiddies.
Happy Birthday Girl!

Love this idea! I’m not nearly as adventurous as all of you in terms of costumes, so I’ll wear the costume that Oz wore in the Buffy Halloween episode, “Fear Itself.” 🙂
I blog at http://lisarivero.com about writing and life and whatever else is interesting. Looking forward to discovering other new blogs this weekend!

Happy birthday, Kelsey, and happy Halloween! I found you through Lisa Rivero’s site. I’m Laura Stanfill, and I host author interviews and post about my historical novel-in-progress, writing challenges and books at laurastanfill.wordpress.com. As for a Halloween costume, I’ll probably wear my 1950s-esque spiderweb pillbox hat when my 4-year-old goes trick-or-treating. It’s black and glittery orange, and if it’s not freezing, I’ll pair it with a black dress and drape a spiderweb over the top.
Off to read some new blogs!
